Hillside House offers a caring, safe, well-equipped home for the developmentally disabled, situated amid beautiful natural spaces created on open outdoor grounds, with easy access to the vibrant Santa Barbara community. Convenient public transportation is provided by Santa Barbara Easy Lift, and by an MTD stop right at our front door, making Hillside House readily accessible to visitors and employees.

Hillside House is a 59 bed facility which includes:

• Fourteen 4-bed rooms
• One 2-bed room
• One 1-bed room

Our resident lounge features:

• a 30’ x 48’ room
• comfortable couches
• a fireplace
• a large TV
• floor to ceiling windows looking out on a beautiful rural setting

Hillside House’s amenities also include:

• a well-equipped computer lab
• an array of sensory stimulation equipment
• an up-to-date Physical Therapy Room
• “Talking Books” provided for us by the Braille Institute of Santa Barbara
• Private phone access for residents by way of our Privacy Room
• Onsite laundry service with 24-hour turnaround

Our Physical Therapy Room, supported by skilled staff, is furnished
with adaptive equipment including:

• Walkers
• Standers
• Weight Lifting Equipment
• Adaptive Bikes
• Adaptive Swing
• Ball Pit
• Audio Sensory Pillows
• Parallel Bars

Our resident bathroom facilities include 6 separate male and female bathrooms. Each bathroom includes:

• Adaptive Tubs
• Lifts to promote safety and comfort
• Adaptive seats, “bath chairs”

Our outdoor grounds include:

• Wheelchair accessible paths
• Shuffleboard
• Basketball
• Raised-bed gardens
• Outdoor swing-set
