Make Your Own and Someone Else’s Life Better: VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are central to our work. Our volunteers offer increased social, recreation, and community activities to the people who live at Hillside House. Volunteers become allies to our residents and our staff. It takes the support of many people to ensure our residents live the best lives possible. Hillside House volunteers play a big part in the work we do!

One of the most foolproof ways we know for curing what ails you is to hang out with someone who wants nothing more from you than your being exactly who you are, and who appreciates so much the time you spend with them!

As a volunteer, you can choose from a variety of ways to help Hillside House. We’ll be happy to help you find the way that suits your time and interests:

Quotes from 8th grade volunteers at Hillside House

“I couldn’t wait to wake up in the morning and be able to go to work. Just walking in the doors and having residents wheel over to me and just want to talk and play UNO and go for walks gave me such an unexplained joy in my life.” —Emma

“I learned that every single human being has a story to tell, has character and love for others and all that needs to come out is a little patience, determination and love in yourself for others.” —Max

“For me, your sanctuary of some of the loveliest people I have ever met is a place I will always remember and keep close to my heart.” —Elena
